A Room Once Again Filled with Words
This work features three interconnected installations—Guyu-gwa (fire), Gara-wa (freshwater), and Gurrul-wa (wind)—which represent essential elements in Larrakia, an Aboriginal language of Australia. Set within the confined space of a vacant house, the piece transforms the structure into a vessel for regeneration and introspection. Each room centers around objects borrowed from local island residents, using them to weave connections to the past through the lens of local history and context.
